Sunway University and SEAMEO SEN Advance Inclusive Education Through Strategic Partnership

Petaling Jaya, 30 October 2026 – Sunway University, Malaysia’s and ASEAN’s leading non-government-linked private university has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation Regional Centre for Special Educational Needs (SEAMEO SEN), a regional intergovernmental organisation, to strengthen collaboration in inclusive and special education. 

The agreement provides a basis for both institutions to collaborate on educational research, exchange expertise and support professional development for educators. These areas of cooperation will enable both parties to share knowledge and explore approaches to strengthening inclusive and special education. 

The collaboration covers joint research and resource sharing, capacity building and professional development, student engagement and experiential learning, and academic exchange. Both institutions will also explore opportunities to organise joint conferences, forums and advocacy initiatives related to inclusive and special education.
