About the Scholarship

• Number of Scholarships: 3 per year
• Intake: July    
• Coverage: Full tuition fee waiver for the entire PhD duration
• Other Costs: Visa, travel, accommodation, and living expenses borne by the recipient
• Study Mode: Full-time, on-campus (must reside at Sunway for at least two-thirds of the PhD duration)

Eligibility & Application

Eligibility:

• Hungarian citizenship
• Meet academic entry requirements for the chosen PhD programme
• Submit a strong research proposal aligned with the field
• Demonstrate academic excellence and research potential

Application Requirements:

• Completed PhD application form
• CV
• Certified academic transcripts
• Research proposal (1,500–2,500 words)
• Motivational Letter (500-700 words) explaining why the candidate would like to study at Sunway University
• Passport copy (proof of Hungarian citizenship)
• Two academic reference letters
• English proficiency test results (if applicable)

Selection Process & Timeline

Selection Criteria:
The Scholarship is highly competitive. All applications are reviewed based on:

• Academic qualifications and transcripts
• Quality and feasibility of the research proposal
• Research alignment with faculty expertise
• Letters of recommendation
• Interview performance (if shortlisted)

The top three (3) applicants across all disciplines will be awarded the scholarship.
