Sunway University Press was honoured to connect with the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission of Saudi Arabia during the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) 2026, opening the door to exciting opportunities for future collaboration.
We were pleased to be hosted by the Commission’s CEO, Dr Abdullatif Alwasel, together with Dr Hailah Alkhalaf, General Manager of the Translation Sector. As the Guest of Honour for this year’s KLIBF, Saudi Arabia’s pavilion was one of the highlights of the book fair, offering visitors a wonderful introduction to the country’s rich literary and cultural heritage.
During our meeting, we explored several potential initiatives in publishing, translation, and cultural exchange, with a shared interest in developing meaningful collaborations between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.
We were also grateful to Dr Alwasel and his team for taking us on an immersive tour of the Saudi pavilion, showcasing the country’s literature, music, dance, and cultural traditions.
Sunway University Press looks forward to building on these discussions and turning our shared ideas into meaningful, long-term collaborations that connect readers and cultures through books and publishing.
