Chong Lee Yow is a film lecturer at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and has recently embarked on his PhD adventure at Sunway University. When he’s not immersed in books, writing, or deep dives into research, he lends his expertise as a guest programmer, selection committee member, or jury member for film festivals across Southeast Asia. He’s all about building a vibrant and healthy film ecosystem in Malaysian Borneo, bringing audiences and filmmakers together through film festivals and film appreciation. He wants to be the glue that makes all these concerted efforts stick!

Alright, enough of the “official” stuff. ChongLee loves nature, hiking, diving, travelling, reading, and lately, he’s fallen in love with coffee—Robusta, in particular. So, he’s always open to a coffee date! He also listens to indie music—folk, pop, rock—you name it (and yes, he sings too). Easily distracted? Guilty as charged. That’s why he's into mindfulness practices and meditation—they keep him focused and (mostly) content.
