Research Project
Unraveling the reaction mechanisms of CO2 adsorption on waste paper-based porous carbon functionalised with green synthesis nitrogen-doped metal oxides
Project Description
Climate change and solid waste management are two critical environmental issues. Converting waste paper, including shredded paper and corrugated cardboard into functionalized carbon materials for CO2 capture is seen as an opportunity to promote a circular economy. Exploring greener and more economical approaches is important to decrease pollution and reduce the cost of operation.
This study aims to investigate the reaction mechanisms of CO2 adsorption on functionalised porous carbon using new green synthesis strategy of nitrogen-doped metal oxides.
This project is in line with 10-10 MySTIE (advanced material), Malaysian Green Technology Master Plan 2017-2030, 12th Malaysia Plan (circular economy), and SDGs (12 and 13).
