Biography

Associate Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Wong Shen Yuong is a multidisciplinary researcher and project leader specialising in AI, digital innovation and Explainable AI (XAI). Her research integrates inclusive digital technologies to support inclusive education, and human-centred solutions. Her work in AI-IoT, climate resilience and XAI-driven environmental analytics addresses sustainable cities and climate action. She has experience leading multidisciplinary research and translating emerging technologies into practical solutions for societal and environmental challenges. She leads international collaborations across the UK, Australia, Europe, the US, China and Southeast Asia. She has recently completed a research attachment at Tsinghua University China. She won an International Talented Young Scientist Award in 2026. She is a Professional Engineer (PEng) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, an ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE), an IEEE Senior Member, a Member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (MIEM), and a Professional Technologist (MBOT). She is also an Accreditation Panel of Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) & Engineering Technology Accreditation Council (ETAC). Besides, she serves as an Editorial Board Member for several top-ranking international journals.
