I.P.O.H Project
The team of I.P.O.H Project believes that active engagement with the community in research can bring more impact, substance and benefit within the 21st century through nostalgic reinterpretation of archiving craftmanship which has been part of Ipoh’s heritage and culture. The idea was conceived by Dr Teh, who as an Ipoh lass herself, observed how unsustainable tourism development in Ipoh emphasized too much on the gastronomical development but ignored the other precious treasures of Ipoh that are facing near extinction.
Teaching
Seminars on Cultural Heritage
The university hosts seminars throughout the year to embody the shared values of artistic exploration, education, and the preservation of cultural heritage, benefiting both our institution and the local community.
University Operations
Free Shuttle Bus
Students, staff and visitors to the campus can alight at the nearest public transport station and hop onto a free shuttle bus service that operates within the city where the University is located. This free shuttle bus runs every 25 minutes (subject to traffic conditions) between 7:00am and 10.00pm daily. During weekends and public holiday, the service runs from 9:00am to 9:30pm. In addition to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from combustion engines, the biggest benefit has been to the students, who previously would have spent between RM20 and RM40 a month on bus and taxi fares. Now, more than 300 people use this service daily, 70% of whom are students.
