Dr Seah Chiun Chao
- Lecturer
- School of Engineering
Biography
Dr Seah obtained his PhD in Engineering from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) in 2023, following an MSc in Energy and a BEng in Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on sustainable energy, waste valorisation, biomass and plastic conversion, pyrolysis, catalytic co-pyrolysis, and biofuel production. He has been involved in research projects covering biomass and plastic waste conversion, catalyst development, bio-oil upgrading, fuel characterisation, and pilot-scale thermochemical processes. His work aims to develop practical and scalable approaches for converting waste resources into value-added fuels and energy products. In addition to research, Dr Seah has experience in engineering laboratory development, process system design, and industry-oriented research, with a focus on translating sustainable energy technologies from laboratory research towards practical applications.
