Research Project
A MADANI-Driven Regulatory and Innovation Framework for Malaysian Family Firms
Project Description
Family businesses form the backbone of Malaysia’s economy, accounting for 70% of enterprises. However, only 30% transition successfully to the second generation, and just 12% survive to the third. A major challenge lies in the lack of structured regulatory and innovation frameworks that align with the MADANI economic vision and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles.
This research will develop a Triple-Helix model that integrates government policies, university research, and industry best practices to enhance sustainable competitive advantage among Malaysian family firms. The study will assess the roles of regulatory transparency, incentive structures, taxation policies, exploitative-explorative innovation, and technological adoption in fostering ESG-driven sustainability.
