3) Pacific Journal of Optimization’s Special Issue – Theory and Real-World Applications of Optimization

The website of PJO is: http://www.ybook.co.jp/

Optimization methods are widely used in science, engineering, economics, and industry partly because resources, such as time, money, materials, and energy, are typically scarce in real life. They aim to find solutions that maximize or minimize some study parameters subject to the limited availability of scarce resources. Examples of these study parameters are minimizing costs in the production of a good or service, maximizing profits, minimizing raw material in the development of a good, or maximizing production. Therefore, effectively utilizing advanced technologies and new optimization theories and methods to design and manage these systems is critically important.

The theme of this special issue for the Pacific Journal of Optimization is “Theory and Real-World Applications of Optimization”. The main objective is to solicit high-quality papers addressing the latest progress in the theory and applications of optimization. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, theory and real-world applications of those listed below:
Continuous and Discrete Optimization Methods; Conic Optimization; Optimal Control; Stochastic and Robust Optimization; Equilibrium Problems, Complementarity Problems, Variational Inequalities; Supply Chain Optimization; Graphs and Networks; and Polynomial Optimization.

Papers submitted to this special Issue must not have been published previously or is currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. Each paper will go through a strict and thorough peer-reviewing process in accordance with the high standard of PJO. For any information or queries, please contact any of the Guest Editors.

5) Journal of Inequalities and Applications’ Special Issue – Control and Optimization in Sustainability Applications

In an era of increasing environmental concerns and resource constraints, the role of control theory and optimization in driving sustainable developments has become paramount. The Journal of Inequalities and Applications (JIAP) is pleased to announce a special issue with a theme of advancing the understanding and application of control theory and optimization techniques in the realm of sustainability. This special issue is dedicated to the Third Pacific Optimisation Conference (POC2023) to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 9 – 11 December 2023.  We welcome participants of the conference to submit original, high-quality papers for consideration for publication in this special issue of JIA. This journal is an open-access journal, so there is a publication processing fee involved. Please check the Journal Home Page for details. To ensure the high quality of the special issue, each paper will go through the same rigorous peer review process as a regular paper.

Scope and Topics:

We invite researchers, academics, and practitioners from the conference participants to submit their original high-quality papers on the interplay of control theory, optimization, and sustainability to this special issue for consideration for possible publication in this special issue. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Optimal Resource Allocation; Control and Optimization in Sustainability and Reliability in Energy Systems; Multi-objective Optimization in Economic, Environmental, and Social Aspects; Smart Buildings and Cities; Circular Economy: Minimizing Waste Generation; Climate Change Mitigation; and Transportation Systems.
