Digital AECO Lab (Upcoming)
A next-generation digital construction laboratory equipped with Building Information Modelling (BIM), digital twin, reality capture and collaborative engineering platforms from Autodesk, Bently Systems, Trimble, NIDA, and more. Students experience integrated project delivery workflows using interactive digital technologies including MetaQuest VR, used by leading architecture, engineering and construction firms, preparing them for the digital transformation reshaping the global built environment.
Roboverse (Upcoming)
ROBOVERSE is an immersive robotics innovation hub featuring humanoid robots, quadruped, autonomous drones, unmanned ground vehicles and underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). Students programme, integrate and deploy AI algorithms, computer vision and autonomous navigation systems on multiple robotic platforms used in research and industry.
Chemical Engineering Pilot Plant (Upcoming)
The Chemical Pilot Plant, a 3 storey tall real life operational chemical plant, developed in collaboration with Dia Chemical, Oleology, JJ-Lurgi Engineering, and many more industrial partners, provides pilot scale industrial chemical manufacturing, processing, control and refining experience to our undergraduate students across various engineering discipline, and research opportunities at various complexity levels.
Heavy Structures Lab (Upcoming)
The Heavy Structures Lab, in collaboration with Hilti, provides advanced facilities for investigating structural behaviour under static and dynamic loading. The Magnus frame and dynamic compression frame support specialised structural testing, while the 500 kN Universal Testing Machine evaluates the tensile and compressive strength of materials. These facilities enable industry-relevant research, testing, and structural performance assessment.
Geotechnical Engineering Lab (Upcoming)
A comprehensive civil engineering laboratory equipped for soil classification, compaction, permeability, shear strength, consolidation and foundation testing. Students investigate the engineering behaviour of soils using industry-standard equipment, developing practical understanding essential for designing safe, resilient and sustainable infrastructure projects.
Water and Environmental Engineering Lab (Upcoming)
This laboratory, in collaboration with Hach, supports the analysis of water quality, wastewater treatment, environmental monitoring and hydraulic processes using professional laboratory instrumentation. Students gain practical experience addressing contemporary environmental challenges including pollution control, water resource management and sustainable infrastructure in line with evolving industry practices and regulatory standards.

Advanced Computing Lab
The new Advanced Computing Lab at Sunway University’s FET-LABS Building is home to a suite of high-performance workstations, designed to support intensive computing tasks such as data processing, simulation, and AI development. While not yet a full-fledged HPC lab, the facility already provides students and researchers with access to powerful computing resources—laying the groundwork for cutting-edge research and innovation.
CyberSecurity Intelligence (CSI) Lab
The Cybersecurity Intelligence (CSI) Lab at Sunway University’s Building provides a practical environment for students to develop hands-on skills in cybersecurity, network security, system protection, and security operations. The lab supports practical learning through real-world security scenarios, allowing students to explore how cyber threats are identified, analysed, exploited, and defended against in a controlled environment.
Networking Lab
The Networking Lab at Sunway University’s Building provides students with a practical environment to develop essential skills in computer networking, infrastructure, and network technologies. The lab currently supports the delivery of Cisco-aligned CCNA curriculum, enabling students to gain hands-on experience in network configuration, troubleshooting, routing, switching, and fundamental network infrastructure concepts.

Research Centre for Carbon Dioxide Capture and Utilisation (CCDCU) Lab
A nationally recognised research centre advancing carbon capture, utilisation and climate technologies using specialised facilities such as high-pressure CO₂ absorption systems, Raman-AFM microscopy and electrochemical analysis. Strong research collaborations address global decarbonisation challenges while providing students access to impactful sustainability research.
Research Centre for Nano-Materials and Energy Technology (RCNMET) Lab
Focused on advanced nanomaterials, functional materials, MXenes, and energy technologies, this research centre supports cutting-edge investigations into materials using advance equipment, including a SEM that improve energy efficiency, sustainability and next-generation engineering solutions. Students engage with interdisciplinary research that bridges fundamental science and industrial innovation.
Research Centre for Human-Machine Collaboration (HUMAC) Lab
A multidisciplinary research centre advancing robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, pattern recognition and autonomous systems. Leveraging ROBOVERSE and high-performance computing resources, students collaborate on cutting-edge research involving humanoid robots, advanced autonomous drones, and intelligent perception systems alongside industry and international research partners.
Sunway Centre for Electrochemical Energy and Sustainable Technology (SCEEST) Lab
SCEEST pioneers research in graphene and other two-dimensional nanomaterials for batteries, sensors, energy storage, energy conversion and biomedical applications. Students benefit from internationally relevant research addressing sustainability challenges through collaborations spanning academia, industry and global research networks.
