SDMCDP Celebrates Abaro’s Recognition for Social Impact and Student Welfare at the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards 2026
The Sunway Desa Mentari Community Development Programme (SDMCDP), together with Sunway University and the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation (JCF), congratulates Abaro on receiving the Brand of the Year (Footwear) – Social Impact & Student Welfare Award at the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards 2026.
The recognition celebrates Abaro’s continued commitment to creating meaningful social impact through purposeful partnerships and community-focused initiatives. For SDMCDP, the achievement also highlights the value of collaboration in creating tangible and lasting impact for communities.
Supporting Children and Families in Desa Mentari
Through the Shoes For You, HOPES For Them initiative, Abaro has partnered with Sunway University, JCF and SDMCDP to support school-going children in Desa Mentari, Selangor.
The initiative supports approximately 1,200 school-going children every year, helping them begin each school year with appropriate school shoes while promoting confidence, dignity and hope. By providing essential school footwear, the initiative also helps ease some of the financial pressures faced by families in the community during the back-to-school period.
More than providing a practical necessity, the initiative reflects a shared commitment to student welfare, community development and creating inclusive opportunities for children and families in Desa Mentari.
