Introduction to Theatre

Overview

Introduction to Theatre will allow students to have a basic knowledge and understanding of the theory and practice of theatre. Students will be able to explain and analyze theatrical experiences based on the texts and performances of plays. Students will learn about the various ways of analyzing theatre critically as well as develop and express their own views about the theatrical experience. 

On completing the course, students will be able to:

  1. CLO1: Apply the historical and cultural contexts of theatre.
  2. CLO2: Illustrate the unique aspects of the theatre as a mode of storytelling and entertainment.
  3. CLO3: Demonstrate concepts and theories of theatre in contemporary and historical
    case studies.
