Biography

Pek Yen joined as an academic in 2014 and is a Senior Lecturer at Sunway University. She obtained her Doctor of Philosophy (in Tourism) from the University of Malaya, Malaysia in 2017. Currently, she is teaching subjects related to tourism and events at the School of Hospitality and Service Management. Her research interests focus on intangible heritage conservation, responsible tourism, and media-induced tourism. She has extensively worked with government agencies and small business enterprises in various projects conserving intangible cultural values of the community such as craftsmanship.
