Remote Working for Employees
SDG 11.4.3
Sunway University promotes remote working as a formal employment option to reduce employee commuting and support more sustainable work practices.
In accordance with the Remote Working Employment (2022) policy, employees who are approved for Remote Working Employment (RWE) are required to sign an RWE contract with the University.
Section 3 Remote Working Employment (2022):
Employees who are approved for Remote Working Employment (RWE) will be required to sign a RWE contract with the Company. The RWE contract is entered into on a voluntary basis between the employee and their line manager, and should be agreed in advance between both parties.
Remote Working Employment (2022)
RWE employees are also required to adhere to the working days and hours established under the University’s Normal Working Days and Hours Policy (2022), ensuring alignment with institutional expectations for productivity and service continuity.
Through these arrangements, the University formally enables remote working as part of its employment practices, thereby reducing commuting-related impacts while supporting staff well-being, operational efficiency, and the institution’s broader sustainability commitments.
