Climate change is a real threat to Earth's life, and carbon dioxide (CO2) is recognised as the major contributor. This makes the reduction in CO2 emissions a worldwide emergency and priority. To combat climate change as a result of anthropogenic CO2 emissions, efforts have already been put forth to capture and sequester CO2 from large point sources, especially power plants.
However, the utilisation of CO2 as a feedstock to produce chemicals, materials, and fuels is a judicious strategy as it provides a more economical and sustainable solution than sequestration. Currently, tremendous research is being carried out worldwide to tackle the challenge of integrating CO2 capture with its utilisation due to the ever-rising social and environmental pressure for a net zero-carbon economy.
Recognising the importance of this issue, the Centre for Carbon Dioxide Capture and Utilisation (CCDCU) of Sunway University is organising the 2nd Euro-Asia Conference on CO2 Capture and Utilisation (EACCO2CU2022) which will be held virtually on 6th - 8th December 2022. This Conference demonstrates our commitment to supporting the United Nations (UN) sustainable development goals (SDGs), particularly SDG13 on climate action, SDG9 on industry innovation and infrastructure and SDG7 on affordable and clean energy This event offers a unique platform for academicians, researchers, industry experts, and policymakers to meet and share their knowledge and innovative ideas as well as discuss the latest trends and challenges in CO2 capture and utilisation technologies.

The Research Centre for Carbon Dioxide Capture and Utilization was established to be a focus for research in CO2 emission mitigation and utilization under the leadership of Professor Mohamed Kheireddine Aroua. Our activities focus revolves around CO2 capture and its transformation to fuels and chemicals for the global market in addressing a number of the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations such as climate action (SDG13), affordable and clean energy (SDG7), and industry innovation and infrastructure (SDG9). We are equipped with customized equipment to work with CO2 separation processes such as absorption and adsorption.

LANCASTER UNIVERSITY
Lancaster University is a collegiate public research university in Lancaster, Lancashire, England. The university was established by royal charter in 1964 one of several new universities created in the 1960s. The university was initially based in St Leonard's Gate in the city centre, before starting a move in 1967 to a purpose-built 300 acres campus at Bailrigg, 4 km to the south. The campus buildings are arranged around a central walkway known as the Spine, which is connected to a central plaza, named Alexandra Square in honour of its first chancellor, Princess Alexandra. Lancaster is a residential collegiate university; the colleges are weakly autonomous. The eight undergraduate colleges are named after places in the historic county of Lancashire, and each has its campus residence blocks, common rooms, administration staff, and bars.
Lancaster is ranked in the top thirteen in all three national league tables and received a Gold rating in the Government's inaugural (2017) Teaching Excellence Framework. The annual income of the institution for 2018/19 was £317.9 million of which £42.0 million was from research grants and contracts, with an expenditure of £352.7 million. Along with the universities of Durham, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield and York, Lancaster is a member of the N8 Group of research universities.

ImageUNIVERSITI MALAYA
Universiti Malaya, or UM, Malaysia's oldest university, is situated on a 922-acre campus in the southwest of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. It was founded on 28 September 1905 in Singapore as the King Edward VII College of Medicine and on 8th October 1949, it became the University of Malaya with the merger of the King Edward VII College of Medicine and Raffles College (founded in 1928). The University of Malaya derives its name from the term 'Malaya' as the country was then known. The Carr-Saunders Commission on University Education in Malaya, which recommended the setting up of the university, noted in its Report in 1948:
"The University of Malaya would provide for the first time a common centre where varieties of race, religion and economic interest could mingle in a joint endeavour ... For a University of Malaya must inevitably realise that it is a university for Malaya."
