Statin use and Dementia: Is there a link?

Synopsis: Statins are widely prescribed for their potential benefits in lowering cholesterol and reducing the risk of vascular disease. However, there is conflicting evidence suggesting, on the one hand, that statins may cause reversible cognitive impairment and that, on the other hand, they may be protective against dementia and might even reduce cognitive deficit. So, can we make any sense of it all or is it just too confusing?
