Theatresauce presents: Sisyphus No. 9
“We must imagine Sisyphus happy.” - Albert Camus
Supported by the Department of Film and Performing Arts, SISYPHUS NO. 9 is a physically-visceral theatre piece accompanied by live music playing in Sunway College's Rooftop Theatre from September 6 - 10, 2023.
This performance, directed by Tung Jit Yang is inspired by two stories: the myth of Sisyphus, punished by the gods to eternally roll a boulder up a hill only to have it roll down once more for him to start all over again; and the story of Ludwig van Beethoven, who, at the juncture of total deafness, composes and (eventually) conducts his acclaimed 9th Symphony in Vienna, Austria.
This is Theatresauce's final production of their 2023 season.
