The Planetary Health Summit and Annual Meeting, held biennially, unites the global Planetary Health community to address humanity's grand challenges, fostering systemic change through solutions. Over the past five events, it has convened leaders from 130+ countries in the United States, Scotland, and Brazil. Acknowledging Asia's pivotal role in Planetary Health, PHAM 2024 will be a groundbreaking Southeast Asian edition hosted by Malaysia. Under the theme "From Evidence to Action: Confronting Reality," it's led by the Sunway Centre for Planetary Health at Sunway University, Kuala Lumpur.
PHAM 2024's theme, 'From Evidence to Action: Confronting Reality,' recognizes academia's transformative potential. Planetary health must embrace transdisciplinarity, forming partnerships with movements like One Health and Environmental Health. We'll engage in global processes, including the UN's SDGs, Secretary-General's summits, and work led by UN Resident Coordinators. PHAM 2024 emphasizes science's role in action and communication for public understanding and decision-makers' action.
