Collaboration between Academia and the Media
We would like to invite all colleagues to a workshop hosted by the Asia Pacific Centre for Hospitality Research on "Collaboration between academia and the media" by Associate Professor Sirijit Sunanta of Mahidol University, Thailand.
"Behind the Smile" is a documentary on frontline tourism and hospitality workers in Thailand. The production was a collaboration between a research (Sirijit Sunanta) and professional documentary makers. It is an episode in "Some One" documentary series (45 episodes), which was on air on MCOTT Channel in Thailand from November 2022 - April 2023. A co-creation project between RILCA, Mahidol University, and Inspire Media and Pleiades Bangkok Companies, the series was funded by Broadcasting and Telecommunication Research and Development Fund for Public Interest. The episodes cover issues on social diversity in the Thai context. The documentary screening will be followed by a discussion on in creasing research impact with media engagement and collaborations betweens academia and the media.
