Data Fluency with R

In collaboration with the School of Mathematical Sciences at Sunway University and IGSC - Sunway Institute for Global Strategy and Competitiveness, there will be a 2-day "Data Fluency with R" workshop for external participants from 20-21 February, 2024. 

The workshop is curated with a 'zero to hero' approach, ensuring participants with no prior knowledge of R will gain the skills for data analysis confidently. 

The workshop covers 3 modules:

  • Introduction to R
    This module helps participants master R basics, including syntax, variables, operations, and data structures for data analysis.
  • Data Manipulation with dplyr
    Participants will learn to manipulate data using dplyr's 5 common verbs: filter, arrange, select, mutate, and summarize for extracting valuable insights.
  • (gg) Plot Your Data!
    Visualizing and understanding data before running models. Using ggplot2 in R, participants will learn basic data plotting and visualization based on the "grammar of graphics."
