Associate Professor Dr Felicia of the School of Medical and Life Sciences Wins the L’Oréal-UNESCO Fellowship for Women in Science Award!

We are proud to announce that Associate Professor Dr Felicia Chung was named one of the recipients of the L’Oréal-UNESCO Fellowship for Women in Science for 2021! The L’Oréal-UNESCO Fellowship for Women in Science is an initiative by the L’Oréal foundation to celebrate the achievements of women scientists in Malaysia. The award is part of a global movement by L’Oréal to promote the work of women in science.

Dr Felicia joins the ranks of more than 40 distinguished Malaysian scientists who have received this prestigious award. This includes Dr Cindy Shuan Ju Teh from the University of Malaya, and Dr Siu Yee New from Nottingham University, who also received this award in 2021. With this award, Dr Felicia has received a research grant of RM30,000, and a platform to spread awareness about her research, which focuses on the investigation of mutational signatures that arise in upper tract urothelial cancers.

Being the first recipient from Sunway University, Dr Felicia hopes that this win will encourage all the outstanding female scientists at Sunway University to try for this award in the coming years.
