Associate Professor and Associate Dean (International) Dr. Mayco A. Santaella from the School of Arts published an edited volume with Sunway University Press. Popular Music in East and Southeast Asia: Sonic (under)Currents and Currencies serves as an introduction to genres, artists, and contemporary discourses in and of the region. This volume covers genres, artists, and popular music issues with examples from the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore in Southeast Asia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea in East Asia, and the United States (US) in relation to the development of specific genres, industries, and links with Asia.
