The Master of Education (Conventional) programme at Sunway University delivers a comprehensive and engaging learning experience through its immersive and face-to-face coursework mode. Designed to meet the diverse needs of education professionals, the programme replaces examinations with project-based assessments, emphasising the practical application of knowledge and skills.

Offered in both full-time and part-time modes, the programme provides flexibility for students to align their studies with their personal and professional commitments. There are six learning blocks per year. For full-time students, each block consists of two courses and a research project, while for part-time students, each block consists of one course and a research project. It features three specialisations: Instructional Technology, Educational Management, and Early Childhood Education. These specialisations empower teachers, school leaders and early childhood educators with advanced expertise to address the evolving challenges in the education field.

Entry Requirements

Academic Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6 Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, as accepted by the Academic Senate.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6 MQF) or its equivalent, not meeting a CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of five (5) years of working experience in a relevant field. 
Other Qualifications
  • An APEL.A Certificate (APEL T-7) (Recognition of Prior Learning).
  • Any other qualifications will be considered on a case-to-case basis.
     
Specific Requirements
  • Students with a non-related bachelor's degree (minimum CGPA of 2.00) or without the relevant work experience have the opportunity to enroll in the programme upon the completion of a prerequisite subject.

English Language Requirements

English Competency Requirement for International Students: For postgraduate studies, international students are required to achieve a minimum score of 6.0 for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) OR its equivalent.
