Biography
Professor Mo Sa-Li is a Distinguished H. Professor in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Sunway University (SU), Malaysia, and a Professor of Control Engineering at the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (YunTech), Taiwan, where he collaborates closely with the Graduate Institute of Data Science (IDS) and Future Technology Research Center (FTRC). He also holds adjunct professor appointments at several international institutions, including Engineering Institute of Technology EIT (Australia), Khazar University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, and University of Zanjan, contributing to research, graduate supervision, and international collaboration. He is an internationally recognized researcher in control systems, robotics, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and nonlinear dynamical systems.
His research focuses on advanced control theory and its applications to robotic systems, autonomous vehicles, aerospace systems, mechatronics, and intelligent engineering systems. His work encompasses robust control, adaptive control, sliding mode control, learning-based control, fault-tolerant control, optimization, and AI-assisted control methodologies. He is recognized among the world's top 2% scientists by Stanford University and has been listed among the leading researchers in Electronics and Electrical Engineering since 2019.
From 2013 to 2018, he served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Zanjan, where he was later promoted to Associate Professor. During this period, he received multiple research awards, including recognition as a leading researcher at both the provincial and university levels. In 2019, he was a Visiting Professor at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), United Kingdom, collaborating with the Engineering Modelling and Simulation Research Group.
Since joining YunTech, Taiwan, he has continued to expand his international research profile and has been ranked among the top researchers in Electronics and Electrical Engineering in Taiwan. His achievements have been recognized through several prestigious distinctions, including the Research Excellence Award in Taiwan, the Plum Blossom Recognition Award, and inclusion among the Top 1% of researchers worldwide in Engineering according to ESI indicators.
He has authored and co-authored more than 400 journal and conference publications, receiving over 12,500 citations and achieving an h-index exceeding 63. He serves on the editorial boards of several prestigious international journals, including ISA Transactions, Artificial Intelligence Review, International Journal of Control, Automation and Systems, and Circuits, Systems, and Signal Processing.
In addition to his research activities, he has supervised more than 60 master's students and 15 Ph.D. candidates, while actively contributing to international research collaborations, scientific projects, editorial activities, and academic-industry partnerships worldwide.
Through his scientific leadership, international collaborations, and sustained research excellence, he continues to make significant contributions to the advancement of control engineering, robotics, artificial intelligence, and autonomous intelligent systems.
