Sustainable energy refers to the various ways of using and conserving energy that will not compromise our future’s energy resources. This includes all existing renewable energy as well as the production of safe energy that is universally available.
SDG 7.2.4: Sunway University has adopted a long-term, structured approach to upgrading its existing buildings in order to achieve higher energy efficiency and align with international sustainability standards.
SDG 7.2.5: At Sunway University, annual Internal Energy Audits are undertaken across campus buildings to systematically review energy performance, identify areas where energy waste is highest, and prioritise corrective actions
SDG 7.4.1: Sunway University actively promotes energy efficiency and clean energy adoption across campus, embedding sustainability into both infrastructure and community practices.
SDG 7.2.3: Since 2018, Sunway University has implemented a carbon management initiative focused on reducing carbon emissions by installing solar panels and batteries.
SDG 7.2.6: Sunway University focuses on investing in companies and projects that show a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, such as renewable energy, resource efficiency, and climate resilience.
SDG 7.4.3: In line with our commitment towards improving energy efficiency and promoting clean energy, Sunway University through Research Centre for Nano-Materials and Energy Technology (RCNMET) provides direct services to local industry aimed at improving energy efficiency and clean energy.
SDG 7.4.4: In 2024, Sunway University informed and supported governments in all level - local, regional, national and global, in clean energy and energy-efficient technology policy development.
SDG 7.4.5: Sunway iLabs provides a supportive ecosystem for startups, offering funding, mentorship, and networking through programs like LaunchX, which connects student entrepreneurs with industry and VC mentors.
