Biological Sciences celebrated 2nd Annual Day

Department of Biological Sciences (DBS) hosted its 2nd Annual Day on December 4, 2018. The objective of the Annual Day was to recognize and promote teaching and research activities, and identify opportunities for future areas of growth. 

The first session highlighted cutting-edge research and scholarly activities of DBS. PhD students shared their ongoing research, outcomes and perspectives on future directions.

The second session featured invited talks by eminent academicians and experts from within Sunway University. Professor Pua Eng Chong (Deputy Vice-Chancellor) talked about some of the challenges and opportunities in scientific research, while Associate Professor Dr Lau Sian Lun (Associate Dean) highlighted “Challenges and Opportunities in 21st Century University Education”. Professor Naveed Khan (Head of Department) spoke about DBS’s Aspiration to be a centre for quality teaching and research discovery. Professor Serguei Demidenko (Dean) shared his vision and mission for the School of Science and Technology. The Research Day ended with an award ceremony.
