Run Towards 17 Goals

Sunway Student Volunteers organized the Run Towards 17 Goals, a charity run aimed to raise funds for the Shoebox Christmas project, which is an annual event to give gifts to children from different communities such as refugees, community centers, orang asli communities and much more. The team decided to bring focus and attention towards the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals as a theme for the run, as an effort to educate and encourage the participants to take small steps to achieve any of the 17 goals, so that together we can play a part in making those goals a reality. On 21 Oct, 500 over participants came together for the run around Sunway City, which started in Sunway University and ended in Sunway Geo. The charity carnival was held in Sunway Geo together with support from organizations such as Sampah Menyampah, Biji-biji Initiative, WWF Malaysia and much more.

The closing ceremony was attended by Ms. Sarena Cheah, managing director of the property division of Sunway Berhad; Dr. Elizabeth Lee, senior executive director of Sunway Education Group and Ms. Lee Siok Ping, Director of Student LIFE.
