The School of Hospitality Visits Alila Bangsar Hotel

Sunway University School of Hospitality organised a day trip for BA (Hons) Hospitality Management Year 2 students to visit ALILA Bangsar Hotel and Resorts on 29 June 2018. Alila is a new hotel located in the heart of Bangsar, with a special unique design. The hotel offers the feel of a resort blended with a luxury hotel concept combining innovative design and crafted luxury within a unique location. Alila Bangsar offers comfort and personalised services with a contemporary style.

The trip is an eye opening experience for the hotel students to witness the hotel’s unique design and ambience. It also includes a presentation session by Ms Agnes Tan on career and internship opportunities with ALILA, followed by a sharing session with the General Manager, Mr Kamal Munasinghe. This session focussed significantly on issues concerning managing hotel operations and services. Students were given an opportunity to discuss with the hotel general manager on hotel issues, trends and challenges. Mr Kamal has more than 20 years of global experienced in various five-star hotel industries, his sharing session provided students with a global view of the hospitality industry from past, present and future perceptions.

Ms Agnes said, “Alila always welcomes Sunway hospitality students who are ready to take up the challenges in working in the hotel industry to embrace the values of passion, innovation, authenticity, social responsibility and community engagement with hotel guests”.

Students are given a tour to view the hotel’s lifestyle facilities across five themes: cultural learning; active spirits; conscious living; culinary arts; and couple celebration.
