School of Hospitality at the Business & Major Events Challenge 2019

Kudos to our two dynamic teams; the Sunway PIE and the Sunny Bears for their participation in the Business & Major Events Challenge 2019 in Petaling Jaya recently!  Both the Sunway PIE and Sunny Bears teams were represented by the degree students from the BSc (Hons) Conventions and Events Management (BCEM) and BSc International Hospitality Management (BIHM) programmes. The Sunway PIE team comprising Par Mei Gee, How Zi Ying and Ho Tze Yin and Ku Li Min, became second runner-up for their impressive BAKERY, CONFECTIONERY AND DESSERTS EXPO 2021. Furthermore, Sunway PIE also made the judges’ favourite for Best Presentation!  Whilst Desmond Lean Khiaw Hong, Tan Wan Yong, Amber Tan Wan Xin and Irene Ng Wei Na made up the Sunny Bears team with their equally impressive Food for Future 2021 Event, grabbed third runner-up.

The competition is an annual national event organised by the Business & Major Events Academic Council of the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau for events & hospitality management students across the nation to develop creativity in presenting fresh and unique ideas in conceptualizing business-testing and organizing a Business & Major Event with the knowledge and skills taught in their schools.
