CAE-ADTP students emerged as prize winners in P2A Virtual Mobility programme
On 6 August 2022 (Saturday), Sunway students from the Centre for American Education (CAE) American Degree Transfer Program (ADTP) walked away as prize winners in the P2A Virtual Mobility (P2A VM) in Language and Culture programme organized by non-profit network, Passage to ASEAN (P2A) Association.
The winners were
• First place: Chloe Chock Ze Xing and Edmond Kwan Yek Man
• Second place: Muhammad Tauriq Chayanne bin Ahmad and New Yi Fei
• Third place: Bryan Tham Jun Mun and Harez Abdul Halim
• Incentive clips: Loo Ee Xuan, Samiha Zahin Sharif, Teoh Tian Jun and Violet Chin Zi Shan
The programme which was designed for P2A students in language and social disciplines required students from various ASEAN universities in Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam to work together in teams to produce TikTok video clips on the theme ASEAN Go! Explore New Horizon (ASEAN GEN Z). Submitted videos would then be assessed by a panel of judges for creativity, technique, information, collectivity, inspiration, uniqueness as well as context. The programme allows students to not only share their own learnings on the subject matter but to collaborate and build networks with ASEAN students. “This collaboration has not only enabled me to explore and learn a lot from my fellow team mates and other groups, but also make me appreciate a lot about our amazing ASEAN neighbours, their culture, language. …And you can genuinely be amazed by the type of conversations and shared ideas you get when you’re placed in a group with different people from different part of the ASEAN community,” said Harez in his reflection video. Thirty CAE students, the largest participation to date from Sunway University for the P2A VM programmes, were gathered from CAE-ADTP’s communication and sociology classes. All video submissions for the P2A ASEAN GEZ Z programme can be viewed here. Since 1987, CAE has helped to prepare students to transfer successfully to Ivy League and top-tier universities across the United States including Cornell, Johns Hopkins, New York University, University of Michigan and Boston University. The ADTP also supports transfers to world-ranked universities in Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia and Malaysia.
