Call for Applications: PhD Studentship in Public Health.

The School of Medical and Life Sciences (SMLS) of Sunway University is launching a new PhD studentship in public health.

The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed weaknesses in social and health systems stemming from weak public health capacities in most countries. The unprecedented attention and investments resulting from the pandemic provide a short window of opportunity for countries to leverage response and recovery efforts to strengthen the foundational elements of health systems and build strong public health capacities towards resilience and sustainability. The COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated that health is central to economic development and societal progress. It also showed the need for rethinking public health in the “post” COVID-19 health systems recovery and reorientation.
