SUGSC Volunteers at FunGates Soup Kitchen

A total of 8 undergraduate students from Sunway University Global Supply Chain, Sunway Business School,
completed a volunteer job at FunGates Soup Kitchen on the eve of Deepavali, last weekend.

They embarked on what was approximately a 50km round trip from Sunway University Subang Jaya Main Campus to/from 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗻 based in Jinjang, Kuala Lumpur.

This provided them with somewhat of a  real-working experience outside the classroom. They needed to arrive at Sunway University early in the morning 7.00 am and report at the soup kitchen by 8.30 am. They then had to start preparing and serving the food and attend to 400+ people from different backgrounds and age groups . Last but not least, they performed some cleaning work before the soup kitchen restaurant closed at 2 pm.

Apart from that, the volunteers also handed over 450 CHI sparking drinks sponsored by Organic Country Farm Sdn Bhd to the Staff Representative if FunGates Soup Kitchen. Overall, it was a great experience for the students. The University is immensely proud of them for volunteering for such a good cause and hopes that other students will be inspired to do so as well.
