Minister of Higher Education Visits Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre at University of Cambridge

 

Minister of Higher Education YB Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir and his delegation visited the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre at the University of Cambridge during his recent working visit to the UK, accompanied by Higher Education director-general Professor Dr Azlinda Azman, senior officials of the ministry as well as the vice-chancellors of Malaysian public universities.

During his visit, the Minister was introduced to the Centre’s major research work, including critical COVID-19 research pivotal to the UK's pandemic response, groundbreaking research in stem cells and therapeutics, and a collaborative research project on nasopharyngeal carcinoma genomics co-led by Dr Felicia Chung, Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Sciences of Sunway University, and Dr Serena Nik-Zainal, an award-winning Professor of Genomic Medicine and Bioinformatics at the University of Cambridge, who is also a Malaysian.
