The School of Mathematical Sciences recently welcomed its September 2024 undergraduate students with an inspiring orientation led by Professor Chee Kit Ho, the Dean.

Students enrolled in the BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Studies and BSc (Hons) in Statistical Data Modelling were given a thorough introduction to their academic journeys, along with valuable industry insights. They also learned about student societies that can enhance their professional exposure and foster personal growth.

The Department of Actuarial Science and Risk had the privilege of hosting representatives from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, Ms Prisheeni Prakas and Ms Natasha Noor. They shared essential information about professional examinations, membership pathways, and the global opportunities available to aspiring actuaries.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, Ms Prakas, Ms Noor, Ms Lay Guat Chan (Head of the Department of Actuarial Science & Risk), Ms Jye Ying Sia (Head of the Department of Applied Statistics), Mr Tuan Pheng Tan (Administration Assistant Manager), and the members of Sunway Actuarial & Financial Excellence and Sunway Statistical Professionals - STAMP.

Sunway University and the School of Mathematical Sciences is deeply appreciative of the trust our partners and students have placed in us, and we eagerly anticipate guiding them on this exciting new journey.
