Sunway University Townhall: Celebrating Excellence and Inspiring Growth

In an inspiring School Townhall at the School of American Education, Sunway University Provost, Professor Abhimanyu Veerakumarasivam delivered a powerful message on the importance of evolving with the times to maintain the institution's reliability. He reminded the Sunway community that being a Sunwayian means embodying the core pillars of Humility, Integrity, and Excellence. His words resonated deeply, reinforcing the shared mission that unites the university’s staff and students.

The event also featured a momentous celebration of the achievements of Sunway’s academic staff. The Dean of the School of American Education, Associate Professor Ts. Dr Sim Tze Ying, led a certificate presentation to honor those who have gone the extra mile in their academic and professional endeavors.

Congratulations to our distinguished award recipients:

  • Dr TamilSelvan Ramis, FHEA : Recognized for Student Engagement, First Q1/Q2 Publication as First Author, and First Time Commercialization Earnings.
  • Ir Ts. Dewika Naidu, PhD: Awarded for First International Visit Coordination and First Time Commercialization Earnings.
    Kavitha Rajendran: Celebrated for securing the First Internationalization Grant Award, First External Grant Award, and First Internal Grant Award.
  • Janice Wong: Honored with the First Internal Grant Award and First Time Commercialization Earnings.
  • Dr Tan Tee Hean: Acknowledged for the First Internal Grant Award.
  • Muhammad Fadhirul Anuar Mohd Azami: Also awarded for the First Internal Grant Award.

A special recognition was given to the Department of Liberal Arts and Sciences, led by Dr Janitha Nadarajah, for their outstanding teamwork in achieving a notable collaboration with Arizona State University.

As the Sunway University community continues to strive for excellence, this event served as a reminder of the collective effort required to make Sunway proud.
