Successful Recipients of the Yayasan Hasanah's ArtsFAS 2024 Grant

A team of six academics from respective schools at Sunway University has emerged as one of the successful recipients of the Yayasan Hasanah's ArtsFAS (Arts for All Seasons) 2024 Grant, with an amount of RM116,626 being awarded to the project team. The project team members are:

The project team's proposal titled "“Heritage Horizons: Cultivating a Cultural Ecosystem for Wayang Kulit Kelantan – A Wayang Kulit Kelantan Festival” will see to the materialising of a Wayang Kulit Kelantan Festival programme to be held at Sunway University in mid-February 2025. The programme intends to bring this diminishing cultural heritage and traditional art form from the villages in East Coast (Kelantan) to the cities of Selangor in an effort to increase awareness and generate interest among the younger generation targeting mainly at students of Sunway University, and from selected secondary and primary schools, as well as the Sunway community and general public, presenting a series of authentic performances, workshops and exhibitions via an educational approach. The festival programme is mainly supported by ArtsFAS, Yayasan Hasanah, Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with Sunway University particularly the School of Arts, all in an effort to preserve and celebrate Malaysian Arts, Heritage and Culture.
