Sunway University offers a variety of open spaces that serve multiple purposes, creating a dynamic environment for the campus community. These spaces are used for studying, group discussions, exhibitions, and hosting public events and festivals. Open to everyone, even friends and visitors of students are welcome to gather, study, or engage in activities here.

Known as "The Most Happening Campus" in Malaysia, Sunway University’s open spaces are abuzz with weekly exhibitions, events, and programs. For instance, career fairs and other major events are frequently held here, showcasing the campus’s vibrant and inclusive atmosphere.

Green spaces

Green spaces are an integral part of many university campuses and Sunway University has dedicated spaces across campus, which are open to the public to access. The on-campus green spaces serve three primary purposes: providing recreational areas, creating a supportive environment in restoring students' mental health, and supporting ecological conservation efforts.

The herb garden is centrally located on campus, making it easily accessible to anyone walking around.

Enhancing its natural beauty, the garden also features a large tree and a small pond with water lilies, adding to its aesthetic appeal.

Walking paths and benches are placed throughout the garden, creating a relaxing space for visitors to unwind.

The herbs planted here are part of the "Garden to Table" project, an initiative by Facilities Services Department (FSD) and School of Hospitality and Service Management (SHSM). The herbs and flowers grown will be provided to SHSM for culinary teaching and used in learning kitchens.

The University is connected to an extensive pedestrian walkway which allows the public to walk through the campus freely throughout the year.
