Abstract
The recent change of government in Malaysia brought a lot of excitement and hope to the Higher Education landscape in Malaysia. The current government’s action to clean up the country from all forms of corruption and to put the country back on its progressive and ethical path is commendable. At the same time the Prime Minister has stressed many times that there needs to be a major overhaul to the entire Malaysian Education system if the country is to progress forward as a competitive nation again. A key aspect of the success of Higher Education would be the role of leaders and leadership quality of the public institutions in Malaysia. This seminar will illuminate the long standing state of leadership in Malaysian Public Universities and evaluate the prospect of the leaders in navigating the institutions into the next few decades as world class institutions.
