Actuarial Practice Course (APC) August 2024
The School of Mathematical Sciences is delighted to highlight the latest cohort of students who have successfully completed the prestigious Actuarial Practice Course (APC).
Conducted by Ms Sophia Ch’ng, Former President of Actuarial Society of Malaysia (ASM) and the School of Mathematical Sciences’ In-house Actuary with over 20 years of insurance industry experience, this homegrown complementary course was designed to elevate the capabilities of Malaysian Actuarial Practitioners through developing highly employable graduates.
Growing strong over the past 5 years, APC is a tailored program that enhances our student bodies’ professionalism and knowledgeability of significant fields, including insurance pricing, reserving, takaful, adherence to Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) guidelines, IFRS17 compliance, and more. This is executed through a blend of engaging practical exercises and rigorous assessments structured around the latest industrial trends.
The School of Mathematical Sciences extends its deepest gratitude to Ms Sophia for her dedication and contribution to the continued success of APC and to the extent, the success of Sunway Education and Sunway University. We commend the 20 accomplished actuarial students for their determination and discipline, primed to embark on their professional careers!
