Sunway University and Emerald Publishing Forge Strategic Partnership to Advance Research and Education in Malaysia

This agreement aims to enhance collaboration between academia and the publishing industry in Malaysia, fostering closer ties between the university and the publishing company. Notably, Emerald's MoU with Sunway University marks its first agreement with a local private university in the East Asia region.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Professor Abhimanyu Veerakumarasivam, Provost of Sunway University, and Wan Yat Seng, Regional Director of Emerald Publishing for East Asia. Associate Professor Dr. Calvin Cheong, Deputy Dean of Sunway Business School, and William Loh, Customer Success Partner at Emerald, also participated in witnessing the event.

Other notable attendees included Dr. Stella Ong Kim Yoke, Deputy Dean of Employability & Alumni; Professor Yuka Fujimoto, Deputy Dean of Research & Sustainability; Professor Susela Devi Suppiah, Director of Sunway Centre for Environmental Social Governance; Professor Motoki Watabe, Head of the Department of Management at Sunway Business School; Associate Professor Dr. Sitara Karim from the Department of Economics and Finance; Dr. Lianne Lee, Head of the Department of Economics and Finance at Sunway Business School; Dr. Janaki Sinnasamy, Chief Librarian; Tony Roche, Emerald's Chief Officer of Publishing & Strategic Relationships; Rozita Nordin, Marketing Manager at Emerald Publishing East Asia; Bernice Wong and Elvin Cheah, Business Managers at Emerald Publishing East Asia; and Professor Dr. Pei-Lee Teh, Head of the Department at School of Business, Monash University Malaysia.
