Biography

Srikumar Ramayan has been teaching in the communication field at tertiary level since 1999. He is now attached to the Department of Communication and Liberal Arts in Sunway University. Prior to this, he was a banker for three years where he worked with three different international banks and obtained a broader outlook on the industry. He enjoys studying about how different cultures are being perceived and accepted by a certain community and how media represents these cultures to the larger community. His research interest includes the Aghora culture and how corporate communication impacts a company’s reputation. In 2006, he received the Best Staff Teaching Award (Teaching Excellence Award) at the Education Group level competing with staff from other schools. He also received the Champion Globe award in the Globe Academic Challenge competition organised by Marketing Agencies Association (MAA) Worldwide. He is currently a member of the International Association of Media Communication Research (IAMCR).
