Education for SDGs Commitment to Meaningful Education
SDG 17.4.1
SDG education is integrated across the full curriculum at Sunway University
To foster global connectivity and sustainability, the Campus With A Conscience Committee at Sunway Education Group (SEG) launched an online Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Education Course in January 2022, in collaboration with the SDG Academy. This course helps SEG staff and students build a solid foundation on the United Nations 2030 Agenda and its 17 SDGs.
The course is expected to not only positively impact the SEG community but also inspire surrounding communities for years to come. Additionally, the MPU courses are education integrated across the full curriculum, making SDG education a mandatory part of learning for all Sunway College and Sunway University students. As part of this requirement, the General Studies Department (GSD) has incorporated SDG-focused modules, including videos from the SDG Academy for pre-class review and group discussion. Students watch the videos, analyze them critically, engage in discussions, and present their insights in class. The curriculum covers current issues, with some modules emphasizing SDG topics that students can apply in their daily lives.
