Yan Lai Peen has taught English and Linguistics in Malaysia and abroad for more than a decade, notably with the University of Melbourne, Australia where she tutored in the area of Applied Linguistics, and the University of Nottingham (Malaysia campus) where she taught and convened a variety of Academic English modules for disciplines ranging from Arts to Engineering. Currently, she is teaching English for Specific Academic Purposes at the Centre for English Language Studies in Sunway University. She enjoys nurturing students’ love for reading by bringing snippets of literature to class and spewing sonnets in the classroom.
