Biography

Dr Ayaz Anwar is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biological Sciences, Sunway University. He completed his PhD in Chemistry in 2016 from H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), Pakistan’s premium research institute. He received the Vice-Chancellor's research award 2019 for achievement in Early Career Research for his scientific contributions. Dr. Anwar has published over 60 scientific articles and book chapters so far. His work has been featured in top international news such as The New York Times, Asian Scientist etc. He is also an active member of American Chemical Society, Royal Society of Chemistry and serves as reviewer for several top journals. His current research projects focus on the applications of nanomedicine against infectious diseases, particularly those related to brain-eating amoeba.
