Sunway Student Shines at NUS
The School of Mathematical Sciences is proud to highlight Mr. Novel Gnanaguru Rajaguru, a member of our student body pursuing his Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Statistical Data Modelling, formerly known as the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Industrial Statistics.
Mr. Novel was the only Sunway University student to be shortlisted to join the cohort of the inaugural National University of Singapore Fellowship Programme, conducted by the prestigious National University of Singapore (NUS) Graduate School.
As the representative of the institution, he had the opportunity to visit the NUS campus, connect with top-tier PhD students from diverse educational backgrounds, and participate in various interactive workshops. Together, they were exposed to a spectrum of advanced applications of generative AI in fields such as engineering research and music.
Mr. Novel and his team, consisting of Ms. Bao Ngoc Hoang, Mr. Elijah Langcauon, Ms. Minami Kumarawadu, and Ms. Tianran Sun, emerged as the champions of the 3-Minute Thesis Competition, which focused on the topic *"How will generative AI change PhD research?"* with their video titled *"Can AI and History Researchers Be Friends?"*
The School of Mathematical Sciences hopes that the experience gained and the friendships made during this trip will prove invaluable to your professional career and lifelong learning. The community is inspired by your landmark achievement. We applaud you!
