Biography
Dr Gothai had her primary and secondary school education at Sekolah Kebangsaan Convent Bukit Mertajam. Upon her Malaysian School Certificate (SPM) completion, she was offered a place to pursue her Diploma in Medical Laboratory at a private university, Management & Science University (MSU), at 2007. After that, she pursued her Bachelor degree in Biotechnology at Universiti Malaysia Sabah in 2010 with JPA scholarship, where she gained all the fundamental and applied research knowledge, particularly during her final year project. Her passion in research encouraged her to further her Master degree at University Sains Malaysia (USM) in Molecular Medicine at 2015 under MyBrain15 Scholarship. Her research interest focused on plant extraction and in vitro analysis antibacterial. In 2016, she decided to further her Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD), to expand her experience and knowledge in the field of Medical Biotechnology particularly in anti-cancer research and graduated at 2019. During her study journey, she was also the recipient of Graduate Research Fellow (GRF) Scheme and MyBrain15 Scholarship to pursue her PhD and was awarded highest cited paper, 2019.After completion, she joined as research advisor position SciGen Sdn Bhd based in India. Her responsibilities were mainly designing research projects and writing scientific articles for publication in academic journals. She then joined Mahsa University as Lecturer and was engaged academic activities, teaching undergraduate biomedical and also supervising research projects of postgraduate students.
