Biography

Alexander lived and worked many years in Europe, Southeast Asia and the South Pacific. Before joining Sunway University in 2020, he worked at The University of the South Pacific (Fiji), Mahidol University (Thailand), and the University of Vienna (Austria). His research is nested in the fields of tourism geography, mobilities, tourism microbusiness and sustainable tourism, with a regional focus on the Asia-Pacific. Alexander is also editor-in-chief of ASEAS - Advances in Southeast Asian Studies (formerly known as Austrian Journal of South-East Asian Studies which is ranked in various Scopus categories, including Anthropology, Communication, General Social Sciences, Development, Geography, and Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality Management.
