Water Management controls water resources to ensure its efficiently allocated to all users on campus but also minimising the impact on the environment. The different uses of water across campus must be balanced to avoid misuse and over consumption of the water.
SDG 6.3.1: Sunway University is committed to be a responsible consumer of water, actively promoting conservation and sustainable practices in our daily lives.
SDG 6.3.2: Additional to treating wastewater, Sunway University is also committed in preventing water pollution - toxic and hazardous waste/pollutant, from being discharged from our campus into the sewer or water system.
SDG 6.3.3: In conjunction with the launch of the #TheLastStraw campaign on 13th July 2018, the University has discontinued the sale of drinking water from single-use plastic bottles on campus from the campaign launch onwards.

SDG 6.3.5: To help conserve freshwater for human consumption, the University carefully selects drought-tolerant species such as Garcinia Plants, Vernonia Elliptica, Thunbergia Grandiflora, Antigonon Leptopus Lantana and Epipremnum Aureum.

SDG 6.5.3: Researchers from School of Medical and Life Sciences at Sunway University, in collaboration with a local development cooperation, are conducting hydrological and ecological research to assess the water quality of Sunway South Quay Lake since 2022.
