Biography

Dr Rabita Mohd Firdaus Achutan obtained a dual doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and in Chemistry from the University of Lorraine (UL). Previously, she has worked on catalysis and nano-porous materials for environmental applications such as adsorption of water and air pollution. During her PhD, she developed 3D graphene-based monoliths (GBMs) based on a multidisciplinary approach to chemically modified graphene-based materials for environmental applications. She has authored research papers in high-impact ISI journals including Journal of Cleaner Production, Flatchem, and contributed a book chapter. Additionally, she has been involved in graphene production projects, including graphene foil and flakes, 3D graphene, and large-scale production of carbon nanotubes (CNT).  Her work also earned her a place at the HOPE Meetings with Nobel Laureates organized by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). Within her research, she has collaborated with international researchers from Osaka University, Japan, and University of Lorraine, France which has expanded her research influence.
